Monday Market Share // 5•19•14
#MarketMonday time ya'll!
What grocery stores is everyone hitting up this week? I have a Whole Foods and Trader Joe's nearby (it's not lost on me how much of a blessing this is), but I'm so curious where the majority of you do your typical shopping?
1—Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. I've tried a lottttta coconut oil, and this one surpasses them all in taste, nutrition and production. It boosts metabolism, raises energy and is one of the most stable high-heat cooking oils in existence. Made from organic coconuts, pressed fresh within 24-48 hours of being harvested. It's made by hand and benefits families in the rural areas of the Philippines where the coconuts are grown. You can buy it online here: http://bit.ly/1hYbwCz or by clicking the link on the right sidebar of this page.
2—Rock Rose Provisions Sunflower Seed Butter. Have you guys tried sunflower seed butter before? So rich creamy and PERFECT. This is a local-to-me brand. All handmade. Soon to be in a giveaway package coming up, so stay tuned. This particular flavor is smoked chipotle chili. YUM.
3—Organic Chopped Garlic. Anybody else a garlic fanatic like me? (Sorry, boyfriend.) I despise chopping or mincing garlic, so I always have a little jar of this stuff in the fridge. It's pure garlic—no added scary oils. From a medical history standpoint, the antibacterial and antiviral properties of garlic are legendary. It also controls infection from other microbes including yeasts/fungi and worms. Not to mention helping treat bacteria that have become resistant to prescription antibiotics, which is such a problem in our overly-medicated society these days!
4—Sunfood Raw Maca Powder. Maca is a root vegetable grown in the Peruvian Andes. It has been used as a food and medicine in South America for centuries. It is well known for its ability to help enhance strength and endurance. It has a unique almost nutty flavor that disappears in smoothies. Power to the superfoods — raw, vegan and organic!
